BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

A PROCLAMATION

This week, our Nation observes Anti-Communism Week, a solemn commemoration of the profound impact of one of history’s most detrimental ideologies. Throughout time and across continents, communism has unleashed havoc upon societies and individuals alike. More than 100 million lives have been lost at the hands of regimes that sought to suppress faith, curtail freedom, and dismantle the fruits of honest labor, trampling upon the inherent rights and dignity of those they oppressed. As we pay tribute to their memory, we reaffirm our national commitment to resist communism, to champion liberty and human dignity, and to assert that no government can ever replace the will and conscience of a free people.

For over a century, communism has been synonymous with destruction. In every territory it infiltrates, it stifles dissent, punishes conviction, and demands that generations submit to the authority of the state rather than rise in defense of freedom. The narrative of communism is one etched in blood and despair, serving as a stark reminder that its essence is merely another form of servitude.

In the 34 years that have followed the conclusion of the Cold War, the globe has witnessed both the flourishing of democracy and the emergence of tyranny in novel guises. Fresh voices now echo old fallacies, cloaking them in the rhetoric of “social justice” and “democratic socialism,” yet their underlying message remains unchanged: relinquish your freedom, trust in governmental power, and exchange the promise of prosperity for the hollow solace of control. America categorically rejects this malevolent doctrine. We stand as a Nation grounded in the unwavering truth that liberty and opportunity are the inalienable rights of every individual, and that no ideology—be it foreign or domestic—can extinguish these rights.

As we observe Anti-Communism Week, we unite in defense of the ideals that characterize us as a free society. We honor the victims of oppression by keeping their struggles alive and by ensuring that communism, along with any system that denies the rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, finds its rightful place on the ash heap of history.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, DONALD J. TRUMP, President of the United States of America, by the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim the week of November 2 through November 8, 2025, as Anti-Communism Week.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have set my hand this seventh day of November, in the year of our Lord two thousand twenty-five, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and fiftieth.

                             DONALD J. TRUMP
