CNN medical analyst Dr. Jonathan Reiner expressed his astonishment at the recent news surrounding President Donald Trump’s health issues, particularly in response to White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt’s perplexing comments.

During his second “yearly” check-up at Walter Reed Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, Trump reportedly underwent a “preventative MRI” to assess his heart and abdomen. Reiner strongly refuted this claim on “News Central.”

Reiner emphasized, “There is no such thing as a preventative cardiac MRI. This test is not standard for an 80-year-old man undergoing advanced imaging.” He criticized the vague and defensive tone of the White House’s statement, pointing out that this MRI was not part of the president’s comprehensive physical examination.

Trump had check-ups in April and July, with the president boasting of receiving the “best result.” His physician, Dr. Sean Barbabella, affirmed that Trump is in “excellent health.”

Reiner, who previously served as cardiologist to former Vice President Dick Cheney, highlighted the stark contrast between Trump’s current and previous administrations in terms of medical examinations.

Regarding the “advanced imaging” Trump underwent, Reiner questioned the specifics of the procedure, urging for transparency and clarity in the information shared with the public.

Reiner further criticized the White House’s memo, which described the imaging as “preventative,” likening it to only disclosing that a patient had a simple X-ray without providing further details.
