A recently released book by Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan, known for their favorable stance towards Trump, claims to reveal a significant cover-up by the Trump administration regarding the Epstein files. The authors allegedly held back this information to profit from their publication.

The New York Times Magazine featured an excerpt from the book illustrating how senior administration officials collaborated to manage the emerging story while catering to Trump’s desire to conceal the Epstein files.

As outlined in the excerpt:

Vice President JD Vance assumed a leading position in the John F. Kennedy Conference Room within the Situation Room complex, addressing the assembly with, “This is a huge problem.” Present were key figures including White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, White House Counsel David Warrington, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, Deputy Chief of Staff Taylor Budowich, Communications Director Steven Cheung, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, Associate Attorney General Stanley Woodward Jr., and Deputy Chief of Staff James Blair. Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel participated via speakerphone.

…

The major hurdle they faced was the president’s lack of interest in transparency. He was adamant about suppressing the Epstein issue and reacted negatively to any mention of it. Consequently, his team largely avoided the topic in his presence, discussing it among themselves with concern.

In response, House Democrats have expressed their intent to investigate the alleged Trump cover-up should they gain a majority.
