Omar Raja, known for showcasing surprising and complex sports plays on social media, will be featured during ABC’s “On the Red Carpet at the Oscars” this Sunday. As ABC transitions from NBA coverage to Oscars red carpet, Raja’s hot takes will aim to keep sports fans engaged in the network’s programming.

Raja, who joined ESPN in 2020, has a knack for sparking viral conversations around sports topics. His ability to engage fans with a variety of takes, from sports to snacks, has made him a key player in the sports chatter of the streaming era.

During ABC’s early red-carpet coverage, Raja will join ABC News personalities like Linsey Davis and Lara Spencer. His expanded role reflects Disney’s efforts to retain viewers during live events, such as the Oscars and upcoming sports broadcasts.

Raja believes in the power of sports to transcend entertainment boundaries. With upcoming sports-themed movies like “Marty Supreme” and “F1,” he sees an opportunity to engage both sports fans and Hollywood enthusiasts in meaningful conversations.

Adrianne Anderson, senior vice president of content development at ABC, praises Raja’s unique perspective as a bridge between sports coverage and red-carpet events. His 30-minute appearance will be followed by social media coverage, where he plans to interview celebrities and athletes attending the Oscars.

Despite initial hesitations, Raja has found success in blending sports and culture seamlessly. His genuine approach to conversations and interviews has resonated with audiences, making him a sought-after voice in the sports and entertainment landscape.
