Engineered Garments: A Hunting-Inspired Collection

The latest collection from Engineered Garments showcased a strong hunting theme, curated by designers Kenta Miyamoto and Kunimasa Odagi in their third outing since taking over the brand from founder Daiki Suzuki. With nearly 30 years of archives to draw from, Miyamoto and Odagi have crafted a collection that stays true to the brand’s roots while infusing new life into classic styles.

The collection featured over 600 styles displayed in their expansive Paris showroom, including updated classics like the Carlyle pant in olive flannel and the Type 5 Jean Jacket in a textured wool herringbone and cone denim. One of the standout elements of the collection was a magnified camouflage print, used on jackets and pants to evoke a rugged hunting aesthetic.

The hunting theme was further brought to life through the use of gun club checks on rain ponchos, trousers, and jackets, paired with bold leopard print coats, knitted blanket jackets, and stag-print shirts. The overall vibe was a fusion of English countryside charm with a modern Tokyo-meets-New York edge.

What sets Engineered Garments apart is the brand’s ability to mix and match pieces in endless combinations, creating unique and versatile looks for every individual. The standout pieces in this collection, such as the orange floral fleece, sunshine yellow jacket, and chicken jacquard skirt, each exuded their own personality while seamlessly blending with the rest of the collection.

Miyamoto and Odagi’s careful curation of the brand’s heritage is evident in every detail of the collection, showcasing their deep understanding of Engineered Garments’ ethos. With a keen eye for detail and a commitment to honoring the brand’s legacy, the duo has once again delivered a collection that is both timeless and on-trend. Engineered Garments continues to prove that if it ain’t broke, there’s no need to fix it.
