CNN reported its latest poll highlighting the significance of the economy to Americans: āA recent CNN poll conducted by SSRS indicates that 77%āincluding a majority of Republicansābelieve Trumpās policies have increased living costs in their communities. Approximately two-thirds of Americans feel that Trumpās policies have deteriorated the nationās economic conditions. Trump’s approval rating on the economy is at 30%, marking a career low.ā
Americans’ concerns are valid, as recent inflation data suggests that Trump’s policies, aside from the Iran conflict, are contributing to rising inflation across various economic sectors.
The consumer price index increased by 0.6% in April on a seasonally adjusted basis, pushing the annual inflation rate to 3.8%, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics Tuesday. This marks the fastest annual inflation growth in nearly three years.
