Chrissy Teigen, known for her fun and lively personality, recently revealed her struggles with sobriety. The former Lip Sync Battle host, who was always up for a drink, found herself unable to control her alcohol consumption.
Teigen’s popular recipe collections featured a variety of cocktails, but she soon realized that she was unable to stop at just one drink. “I got used to being in hair and makeup and having a glass of wine,” she admitted. “Then that glass of wine would carry over into me having one before the awards show. And then a bunch at the awards show.”
Her excessive drinking led to embarrassing moments and regrets, especially when she found herself making a fool of herself in front of people she respected. Additionally, Teigen faced backlash for online bullying behavior towards Courtney Stodden, prompting her to reflect on her actions.
In 2017, Teigen made the decision to confront her drinking problem. With a family history of alcohol abuse, she recognized the need to give up alcohol entirely. “I used to think it was kind of nutty to have to go totally sober,” she shared. “But now I get it.”
