Australian actor Jacob Elordi’s initial widely recognized relationship was with his The Kissing Booth co-star Joey King. They encountered each other on the set of the popular Netflix series in 2017, and their relationship naturally evolved from there.
“Initially, I thought he was very cute, but our relationship began as a friendship,” King shared with Bello magazine in May 2018. “We immediately started talking about gross things, and soon I realized, ‘Hey, I think I might like this person!'”
King elaborated, “Meeting your boyfriend on a film set is a unique experience because you spend extensive time together, forming a close bond quickly. We were together for 17 hours a day, and after work, we would all hang out and watch movies. It was fantastic.”
The pair dated for over a year before parting ways in 2018. Despite their separation, they continued collaborating on the sequels to The Kissing Booth.
In a conversation with Howard Stern, King expressed that she “could not date another actor” following her relationship with Elordi. She reasoned, “Dating someone in the same field is beneficial because they understand, but it’s challenging to do exactly the same thing as someone else. It’s really tough.”
The Bullet Train actress announced her engagement to director Steven Piet in March 2022. They married in a civil ceremony in Los Angeles and celebrated with an extravagant wedding in Mallorca, Spain, in 2023.
