Netflix’s highly anticipated limited series, “Apple Cider Vinegar,” has just released a new trailer giving viewers a glimpse into the captivating story of fraudulent Australian influencer Belle Gibson. The official logline sets the stage for a riveting tale set at the dawn of Instagram, following two young women who embark on a journey to cure their life-threatening illnesses through health and wellness, ultimately influencing their online communities. However, as the tagline suggests, it would all be incredibly inspiring if it were true.

The trailer introduces us to Belle, portrayed by the talented Kaitlyn Dever, as she crosses paths with Milla Blake, played by Alycia Debnam-Carey, a popular blogger battling cancer. What starts as a chance encounter quickly escalates into a rivalry between the two women. As Milla’s friend Chanelle, portrayed by Aisha Dee, voices suspicions about Belle’s intentions, tensions rise. Belle’s growing popularity on Instagram and her relentless pursuit of success are evident, leading to a dramatic confrontation between the two influencers.

The stellar cast of “Apple Cider Vinegar” includes Tilda Cobham-Hervey, Ashley Zukerman, Mark Coles Smith, Susie Porter, Matt Nable, Phoenix Raei, Chai Hansen, Rick Davies, Kieran Darcy-Smith, Catherine McClements, and Essie Davis, each bringing their unique talents to the screen.

Based on the book “The Woman Who Fooled the World” by Beau Donelly and Nick Toscano, the series was brought to life by creator Samantha Strauss, alongside writers Anya Beyersdorf and Angela Betzien. Executive producers include Strauss, Louise Gough, Liz Watts, Helen Gregory, Emile Sherman, and Iain Canning, with Kaitlyn Dever also serving as an executive producer. Director Jeffrey Walker and See-Saw’s Simon Gillis join as co-executive producers, while Yvonne Collins and Libby Sharpe oversee production. The Melbourne-based production received support from VicScreen, with post-production in New South Wales supported by Screen NSW and their PDV Fund.

As Netflix dives into the world of influencers and the impact of social media, viewers can expect a thought-provoking and compelling exploration of truth, deception, and the power of online influence.
