Kamala Harris to Release Book on 2024 Presidential Campaign

On Thursday, Kamala Harris shared her intention to publish a book detailing her experience during the 2024 presidential campaign, a journey that some might call a political sprint rather than a marathon.

“I believe there is value in sharing what I saw, what I learned, and what I know it will take to move forward,” the former vice president stated in her announcement via X. She added, “In writing this book, one truth kept coming back to me: sometimes, the fight takes a while.” This sentiment resonates with anyone who has tried to engage in a prolonged battle, whether in politics or in their personal lives.

This announcement arrives just a day after Harris decided against running for governor of California next year, while cleverly leaving the door ajar for a potential 2028 campaign. It’s almost as if she’s playing a game of political chess, where every move is calculated to keep the audience guessing.

Her upcoming book, titled “107 Days,” is set to launch on September 23. It promises to delve into what Harris describes as the shortest presidential general election campaign in modern history, clocking in at just over three months, a timeframe that could make even a seasoned campaigner do a double take. Harris took the helm of the ticket from then-President Joe Biden, which must have felt akin to being handed the baton in a relay race at the very last second.

“It was intense, high stakes, and deeply personal, for me and for so many of you,” she remarked, reflecting on the campaign’s emotional toll. “Since leaving office, I’ve spent a lot of time reflecting on those days.” It’s a stark reminder that behind the political façade, there are real human stories filled with aspirations, struggles, and lessons learned.

In a move likely aimed at amplifying her message, Harris will also make an appearance on “The Late Show” with Stephen Colbert later Thursday night—her first interview since exiting her official post. This platform will undoubtedly serve as a springboard for her book, illustrating the age-old adage that in politics, visibility is just as crucial as substance.
