Katy Perry‘s “Teenage Dream” music video co-star Josh Kloss has spoken out about experiencing “silent trauma” after an alleged incident in 2012 where Perry reportedly exposed his genitals at a party.
“Some people think pulling down someone’s pants at a party is just a prank and normal,” Kloss, 45, shared with Page Six in an interview released on Friday, April 24. “Everything was going great for her with the music video, but when she pulled my pants down, I was shocked and asked, ‘What the f*** are you doing?’ I was freaked out and she laughed.”
Kloss explained that he initially connected with Perry while portraying her love interest in the 2010 “Teenage Dream” music video and was later invited to a birthday party for one of her associates in 2012. He alleged that upon greeting Perry with a friend outside the venue, she pulled down his pants and underwear, exposing him to the other attendees.
“It’s strange when you’re attracted to someone, and they suddenly do something like that. From my generation, it might be seen as flirtatious or a come-on,” he recalled.
Kloss mentioned to Page Six that a friend of Perry’s later invited him to an after-party because Perry wanted to talk to him. Despite feeling “pissed off” about what had occurred earlier, he agreed to go. He recalled speaking to Perry briefly at the after-party, though they were separated by friends before addressing the alleged incident.
In August 2019, Kloss initially shared his accusations via Instagram, where he faced backlash from some fans suggesting he should feel “fortunate” or “lucky.” He questioned why he should be grateful for being “devalued and degraded” in front of Perry’s peers.
Kloss had expected an apology from Perry, which he claims never happened. In a 2020 Guardian interview, Perry did not directly address Kloss’s allegations but commented on the nature of a world where “anyone can say anything.”

“I don’t comment on all the things that are said about me because if I chase that dragon, it would be about true and false-ing my whole life. It’s distracting from the real movement,” she added.
While Kloss claims he has moved past the alleged incident, he still faces skepticism from Perry’s fans regarding his account.
“When I shared my story, I was letting go of some resentment toward her,” Kloss stated. “Two people in her circle accused me of lying and called me ‘obsessed.'”
In the Page Six interview, Kloss also remarked, “Publicly, some of the hard part is seeing people not believe [me] … Victims are not believed. I don’t call myself a victim but they aren’t believed.”
Us Weekly has reached out to Perry’s spokesperson for comment.
Katy Perry is currently facing controversy after being accused of historic sexual assault by Orange Is the New Black star Ruby Rose. Earlier this month, on April 11, Rose publicly alleged that Perry sexually assaulted her at a Melbourne nightclub in 2010, following Perry’s social media activity about Coachella 2026.
“Katy Perry sexually assaulted me at Spice Market nightclub in Melbourne. Who gives a shit what she thinks,” Rose shared via Threads at the time. “Afterward, I threw up on her. I shared the story publicly but made it a ‘funny little drunk story’ because I didn’t know how to handle it. Later she agreed to help me get my US visa. So I kept it secret. But I DID tell y’all she wasn’t a good person. Instead, I got attacked by… everyone.”
A Threads user attempted to make light of the situation by referencing Perry’s 2008 hit “I Kissed a Girl,” prompting Rose to clarify.
“She didn’t kiss me,” Ruby explained. “She saw me ‘resting’ on my best friend’s lap to avoid her and bent down, pulled her underwear to the side, and rubbed her vagina on my face until my eyes snapped open and I projectile vomited on her.”
Perry’s spokesperson firmly denied Rose’s allegations in a statement to Us on April 13.
“The allegations being circulated on social media by Ruby Rose about Katy Perry are not only categorically false, they are dangerous reckless lies,” the statement read. “Ms. Rose has a well-documented history of making serious public allegations on social media against various individuals, claims that have repeatedly been denied by those named.”
Initially, Rose expressed she was “not interested in filing a report over” the accusations but later spoke to Melbourne police.
“Last update on this: As of this afternoon, I have finalized all of my reports,” she announced via Threads on April 14. “This means I am no longer able to comment, repost, or talk publicly about any of those cases, or the individuals involved.”

The following day, Victoria Police in Australia confirmed that Rose’s allegations were under formal investigation.
“Melbourne Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team (SOCIT) detectives are investigating a historical sexual assault that occurred in Melbourne in 2010,” a police representative told Us. “Police have been told the incident occurred at a licensed premises in Melbourne’s CBD.”
Perry has maintained a low profile since the police inquiry began but expressed gratitude to fans for their support on April 14.
