Lady Gaga is facing backlash from animal rights activists after reports surfaced that she purchased a new dog instead of adopting one from a shelter. PETA, the well-known animal rights organization, has labeled the singer an “a–hole” for allegedly buying a French Bulldog puppy instead of rescuing one in need.

In response to the controversy, PETA has launched a new sweatshirt design in Lady Gaga’s honor, highlighting what they perceive as her lack of compassion for shelter animals. Senior Vice President Lisa Lange criticized Gaga for not considering the multitude of dogs waiting for loving homes in shelters across the country. She emphasized the importance of adopting pets from shelters rather than supporting breeders who contribute to the overpopulation crisis.

PETA also pointed out that many purebred animals can be found in shelters, emphasizing the need for responsible pet ownership and advocating for spaying and neutering to help reduce the number of homeless animals. French Bulldogs, in particular, are known to have health issues due to breeding practices that prioritize certain physical traits over the well-being of the animals.

This is not the first time Lady Gaga has clashed with PETA over animal rights issues. In the past, she faced criticism for wearing a meat dress at an awards show and for being photographed in animal pelts despite claiming to be against fur. These incidents have sparked debates about animal welfare and ethical treatment of animals in the entertainment industry.

As the controversy continues to unfold, it serves as a reminder of the ongoing importance of promoting adoption from shelters and advocating for the well-being of all animals. Lady Gaga’s actions have once again brought attention to the complex issues surrounding pet ownership and the ethical considerations that come with it.
