Marjorie Taylor Greene Claims Trump is Trying to Stop Epstein Files from Coming Out
Marjorie Taylor Greene, once a staunch ally of former President Donald Trump, made headlines when she accused Trump of trying to prevent the release of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein. Greene claimed that Trump has been pushed “over the edge” by the fight over the Epstein files and is now targeting her to intimidate other Republicans ahead of an important vote.
According to Greene, Trump is “fighting to stop the Epstein files from coming out” and has turned his focus towards her in an attempt to scare other Republicans before a crucial vote. The dispute arose as the House moves closer to a vote on a discharge petition, a rare tactic that allows lawmakers to bypass House leadership and force a floor vote if a majority of members sign on.
Currently, all House Democrats and four Republicans, including Greene, have endorsed the petition seeking to release the Epstein files. The White House and House Speaker Mike Johnson are actively lobbying against the move.
Greene also shared screenshots of text messages she allegedly sent to Trump or his advisers, urging him to support the release of thousands of pages of documents, interviews, hard drives, and records linked to Epstein. In one message, she implored him to “stop ignoring the women.”
Shortly after Greene’s public statements, Trump took to Truth Social to announce that he was withdrawing his support for her. Trump cited personal frustrations rather than the Epstein matter as the reason for his decision. He claimed that Greene’s constant complaining and low polling numbers led to his withdrawal of support.
Trump further criticized Greene, accusing her of being upset that he no longer returns her calls and labeling her a “ranting Lunatic.” He even hinted at supporting a primary challenger in her Georgia district.
Responding to Trump’s attacks, Greene fired back, accusing him of lying about her and insisting that she did not make repeated calls to him. She emphasized that her advocacy for the release of the Epstein files was what triggered Trump’s harsh response.
Trump also targeted Rep. Thomas Massie, calling him a “loser” without mentioning the documents in question.
