Governor Healey’s response to these operations was a stark contrast to her previous statements. She expressed support for the apprehension of criminals in the community, emphasizing that she stands behind the enforcement of law and order.
In an interview with WCVB News in Boston, Governor Healey clarified her position on the recent immigration arrests, stating that she would not label them as “raids.” Instead, she recognized the importance of targeting criminals, regardless of their immigration status. Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell also voiced opposition to President Trump’s immigration crackdown, indicating a divide within the Democratic party on this issue.
