Megyn Kelly Defends Reporting on Nancy Guthrie’s Son-In-Law Suspect

After facing criticism for her coverage of Nancy Guthrie’s son-in-law, Megyn Kelly defended her reporting by revealing that she had received reassurances from her sources. Kelly claimed that Banfield’s insider had assured her a week later, saying, “You’re on the target. Don’t worry.”

Additionally, Kelly disclosed that her own sources had encouraged her to “feel free to stay on him” regarding Cioni, the son-in-law in question.

Kelly took aim at Nanos, the sheriff involved in the case, for his contradictory statements. Initially stating that “Nobody has been cleared as suspects,” Nanos later backtracked, declaring that “the Guthrie family — to include all siblings and spouses — has been cleared as possible suspects.”

In a surprising turn of events, Nanos went on to scold the media, insisting that they needed to stop speculating and spreading false information. He emphasized that the Guthrie family had been fully cooperative with investigators and had been cleared of any suspicion.

Despite the sheriff’s assertions, the PCSD continued to amend their statements, eventually settling on the phrase, “The Guthrie family has not been identified as suspects.” Kelly pointed out the subtle yet significant difference between this and being cleared of suspicion.

As the controversy surrounding Nancy Guthrie’s son-in-law continues to unfold, Megyn Kelly remains steadfast in her reporting, standing by her sources and defending her coverage of the case.
