Jenn Lyon Lands Lead Role in NBC Comedy Pilot “Stumble”
Jenn Lyon has recently been announced as the lead in the upcoming NBC comedy pilot “Stumble,” according to a report by Variety. The pilot, which was first unveiled in March, is described as a mockumentary that delves into the competitive world of junior college cheerleading, where the stakes are ridiculously high.
In “Stumble,” Lyon will portray the character of Courtney Potter, a former champion coach in the junior college cheerleading circuit. After a scandalous video of her partying with her team goes viral, Courtney is forced to take on a coaching job at a less prestigious school in a small town with an unpronounceable name. Determined to prove herself once again, Courtney must lead a team of misfits to victory in the championship, despite the odds stacked against her.
Lyon, best known for her starring role in the TNT series “Claws,” has an impressive resume that includes appearances in popular shows like “Happy Face,” “Dead Boy Detectives,” and “Elsbeth.” She is set to star in the upcoming Netflix series “Sirens” alongside Julianne Moore and Kevin Bacon.
The pilot for “Stumble” is being written and executive produced by Jeff Astrof and Liz Astrof. Dana Honor, through her production company Defining Eve Productions, is also on board as an executive producer, along with cheerleading coach Monica Aldama. Jeff Blitz is set to direct and executive produce the pilot, with Universal Television serving as the studio behind the project.
