Vicente Amorim, the acclaimed director of the hit series “Senna,” is set to direct “The Pilgrimage,” a film adaptation of Paulo Coelho’s early novel. This project marks a reunion between Amorim, Netflix, and Gullane after the success of “Senna.” The announcement was made at a recent industry event, where Amorim shared details of his collaboration with Coelho on the film adaptation.

In addition to “The Pilgrimage,” Netflix also unveiled a new film written by renowned crime writer Raphael Montes. The film, titled “A Estranha na Cama,” is based on Montes’ upcoming novel and promises to be a gripping psychological thriller.

Netflix Brazil also announced a lineup of new titles, including series from Carolina Durão and Claudio Pavia and Maurício Farias, as well as a scripted reality show hosted by actor-comedian Cláudia Raia. The streaming giant is continuing its commitment to showcasing diverse and engaging content from Brazil.

One of the highlights of the event was the presentation of “Rauls,” a new series produced in collaboration with YouTube urban rap channel Kondzilla and LB Entertainment. The series explores cyber scams among the youth in the outskirts of a big city, offering a fresh and unique perspective on contemporary issues.

Another series that generated buzz at the event was “Habeas Corpus,” a courtroom drama starring Marjorie Estiano and Any Gabrielly. The series is inspired by the work of the Innocence Project Brasil and promises to be a compelling exploration of justice and redemption.

The event also showcased Netflix’s commitment to showcasing Brazilian talent on a global scale. With a growing number of Brazilian films and series making waves internationally, Netflix is playing a key role in promoting Brazilian culture and storytelling to a global audience.
