Growing up near Shea Stadium in the 1980s, Weiner’s fascination with the Jets’ defensive line, featuring Marty Lyons, Abdul Salaam, Joe Klecko, and Mark Gastineau, was deeply rooted in his childhood. He yearned to tell their story on the big screen but faced constant rejection.
