The Otago Nuggets suffered their sixth consecutive loss, putting their playoff hopes in jeopardy. They were narrowly defeated 83-73 by the Auckland Tuatara in a hard-fought game on the North Shore.

The standout performer of the night was Will Hickey, who scored 25 points to help secure the victory for the Tuatara. Charles Pride also had a crucial double-double with 24 points and 11 rebounds. On the Nuggets’ side, Don Carey jun led the scoring with 24 points, supported by Jaylen Sebree with 17 points and Jonathan Janssen with 14 points and 15 rebounds.

Both teams were eager for a win as they were struggling before the game. The Tuatara were coming off a heavy loss to the Rams, while the Nuggets were desperate to end their losing streak. The game was marked by poor shooting percentages and frequent turnovers, but Hickey’s late-game heroics sealed the win for the Tuatara.

The final scoreline read Auckland Tuatara 83, Otago Nuggets 73. With this win, the Tuatara continue their push for the playoffs while the Nuggets face an uphill battle to secure a spot in the postseason.
