Pankaj Tripathi, known for his role in the popular series “Mirzapur,” is making his foray into production with a new project titled “Perfect Family.” This eight-episode dramedy is presented as a JAR Series and produced by Ajay Rai under the JAR Pictures banner, along with Mohit Chabbra. The show is set to be one of India’s first long-format series to debut on YouTube using a structured pay model, following in the footsteps of Aamir Khan’s “Sitaare Zameen Par.”
Directed by Sachin Pathak and created by Palak Bhambri, “Perfect Family” will be available on JAR Series’ official YouTube channel. The first two episodes will be offered for free, while viewers can access the remaining episodes by purchasing each episode for INR59 (65 cents).
The series boasts an ensemble cast that includes Gulshan Devaiah, Neha Dhupia, Seema Pahwa, Manoj Pahwa, Giraja Oak Godbole, Kaveri Seth, and Hirva Trivedi. The story revolves around the Karkaria family and their young son Daani, whose anxiety attack at school leads the family to seek therapy, unraveling their dynamics, dysfunctions, and expectations.
Pankaj Tripathi expressed his excitement for the project, stating that “Perfect Family” is a story close to his heart. He emphasized the importance of exploring new distribution models, especially on platforms like YouTube, which have become popular for premium long-format content.
Producer Ajay Rai highlighted the uniqueness of the YouTube pay model, stating that it opens up new opportunities for Indian creators. With a talented cast and Tripathi’s venture into production, “Perfect Family” is poised to redefine storytelling in this new space.
Each episode of “Perfect Family” runs for approximately 35 to 40 minutes, with the series set to premiere exclusively on JAR Series’ YouTube channel on November 27th.
