Hulu has decided to renew “Paradise” for a third season, as reported by Variety.
This announcement comes prior to the Season 2 finale, scheduled to premiere on the streaming service on March 30. The second season initially launched on Feb. 23. According to Hulu, Season 2 has already amassed over 30 million viewing hours, and the first season has experienced a 25 million hour increase in viewership since the second season’s debut.
Leading the cast is Sterling K. Brown, joined by regulars Julianne Nicholson, Sarah Shahi, Nicole Brydon Bloom, Krys Marshall, Enuka Okuma, Aliyah Mastin, Percy Daggs IV, and Charlie Evans. Recurring guest stars include James Marsden, Shailene Woodley, Thomas Doherty, and Jon Beavers.
The Season 2 storyline follows Xavier (Brown) as he searches for Teri (Okuma) and discovers how people have coped during the three years following The Day. Meanwhile, in Paradise, tensions rise in the bunker as they deal with the consequences of the first season, leading to the revelation of new secrets about the city’s origins.
“Paradise” is the brainchild of Dan Fogelman, who also acts as executive producer and showrunner. Brown serves as both an executive producer and star. Additional executive producers include Jess Rosenthal, John Hoberg, Steve Beers, Glenn Ficarra, and John Requa. The series is produced by 20th Television.
Since its debut, “Paradise” has been well-received by both critics and audiences. The first season garnered four Emmy nominations, including outstanding drama series and acting nods for Brown, Marsden, and Nicholson. Brown also received multiple accolades for his role, including a Golden Globe nomination and an NAACP Image Award for outstanding actor in a drama series.
