The Pima County sheriff’s department in Arizona is currently seeking the public’s help in locating 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, the mother of “Today” anchor Savannah Guthrie. Nancy has been reported missing and is classified as a “missing vulnerable adult” due to her age.
According to ABC 15 in Arizona, Nancy was last seen on the evening of Jan. 31 at her residence near East Skyline Drive and North Campbell Avenue in Catalina Foothills, Arizona. Authorities are uncertain about the clothing she was wearing at the time of her disappearance, but she is described as being 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing around 150 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.
Savannah Guthrie currently co-hosts the popular morning show “Today” alongside Craig Melvin, Al Roker, Carson Daly, and Jenna Bush Hager. She has been a part of the NBC News team since 2007, initially serving as a legal analyst before transitioning to co-host “Today” in 2012.
On a personal note, Savannah has shared how her mother, Nancy, has had a profound impact on her life. Speaking on “Today,” Savannah revealed, “When I was in my 30s, I really wished to be married and to be a mom, and things just did not happen that fast for me. And my mom’s confidence that I would be a mom — even as the years ticked by and ticked by and ticked by — meant so much to me. She said, ‘Of course you’ll be a mom, and you’re going to be a wonderful mom.’ And for her to have that confidence and faith was so meaningful to me. It got me through some really hard times.”
