Canterbury police are seeking assistance after a woman was left shaken by a suspicious incident on Woodend Beach near Christchurch. The incident, which took place around 11am yesterday, involved a man believed to be in his 50s or 60s with a small dog.

Although no injuries were reported, the woman was understandably distressed by the encounter. Sergeant Florent Chargelegue emphasized the importance of piecing together the events and urged anyone with information to come forward.

“We urge the gentleman involved to contact us, as well as anyone else who may have witnessed the incident. It is crucial for the community to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity by calling 111,” Sgt Chargelegue stated.

If you have any information regarding this incident, please reach out to the police immediately.
