Over the past four years, Democrats have been criticized for their open-border policies, which, according to some, have resulted in chaos and lawlessness nationwide. In contrast, President Trump is credited with creating the most secure border in history, significantly reducing illegal crossings as he had pledged. Despite these accomplishments, congressional Democrats have been accused of obstructing essential funding for those tasked with safeguarding the nation.
The Secure America Act aims to end what some describe as Democrats’ political tactics by ensuring full funding for ICE and Border Patrol throughout President Trump’s tenure. The act provides necessary resources to maintain border security, combat human trafficking, halt the influx of deadly drugs, dismantle criminal cartels, and uphold immigration laws in the United States.
Recently, every Senate Democrat voted against the Secure America Act. Now, House Democrats are expected to demonstrate their stance, which some argue aligns with open borders, protecting criminal illegal aliens, and defunding the police.
Voices on the Issue:
Department of Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin: “It is essential that Congress swiftly passes the Secure America Act to fully fund these vital agencies. Following its approval in the Senate, the House remains the last step to ensuring our ICE and CBP agents have the resources necessary to fulfill their duties. It has been over 100 days since congressional Democrats defunded ICE and Border Patrol in a radical move to protect violent criminal illegal aliens and undermine President Trump’s successful border security agenda.”
Border Czar Tom Homan: “The passing of this reconciliation will allocate $70 billion to fund us through the end of the Trump Administration. This will increase targeting and arrests, and allow us to pay our vendors, including medical contractors. We are already making historic arrests under President Trump, as promised to the American people. With additional funding, we will continue to accelerate our efforts.”
Republican Governors Association: “As governors responsible for protecting our citizens, we strongly support the rapid enactment of The Secure America Act, which provides sustained funding to U.S. Customs and Border Protection and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.”
Republican Attorneys General Association: “We depend on strong federal partners to ensure the safety of our communities. Senate Democrats, by withholding these resources, are undermining a core federal duty and endangering public safety nationwide. We support advancing this crucial legislation through the budget reconciliation process and delivering it to President Trump for immediate signature. We urge our Republican colleagues to ensure robust funding for CBP and ICE through the remainder of President Trump’s term.”
National Fraternal Order of Police: “The Secure America Act will provide DHS and its law enforcement divisions with significant multi-year funding to strengthen our defenses against illegal immigration, transnational criminal organizations, terrorists, and other threats to our nation by enhancing operational capabilities, supporting personnel, and ensuring law enforcement has the resources and tools needed to protect our communities.”
Conservative Action Project: “Conservatives urge House Republicans to immediately pass the budget reconciliation bill to fully fund ICE and Border Patrol operations. Any further delay is an unacceptable neglect of one of Congress’s most basic duties.”
Immigration Accountability Project: “The men and women of ICE and Border Patrol risk their lives daily to enforce the immigration laws you have enacted. They deserve assurance that they will continue to be compensated for their work. The American people voted for immigration enforcement and the restoration of our national sovereignty. We deserve to know that our Senators stand with us and will fulfill the campaign promises you made to secure the border and enforce the law. It is time to fund immigration enforcement. Pass the reconciliation bill.”
Numbers USA: “Protecting our national security and sovereignty is Congress’s top priority. Critical federal agencies that safeguard our homeland have been shut down for 108 days. We are deeply disappointed that Congress did not fund CBP and ICE through the regular appropriations process. It’s time for Congress to fulfill its responsibility by passing the reconciliation bill to fund our personnel and provide the resources needed to secure our border and enforce immigration laws.”
Independent Women’s Forum: “Following Senate approval of the Secure America Act, which allocates approximately $70 billion for immigration enforcement and border security, Independent Women urges the U.S. House of Representatives to promptly pass the bill and send it to the president’s desk. The legislation would provide essential resources for ICE, CBP, and the U.S. Border Patrol to enhance border security, enforce immigration laws, combat trafficking and drug smuggling, and protect American communities.”
Leader John Thune: As long as Republicans hold leadership, there will be agents at our borders to prevent terrorists, traffickers, and other dangerous individuals from entering the country, and agents to remove criminal illegal immigrants from our streets. I wish I could say the same about my Democrat colleagues.
Senate Majority Whip John Barrasso: Senate Republicans recognize that the government’s primary duty is to prioritize the safety of the American people. Today, we upheld that promise by passing the Secure America Act. Every Senate Democrat voted against this crucial bill. For months they obstructed funding for ICE and Border Patrol. Democrats demonstrated to the nation that they support open borders, protect illegal immigrant criminals, and defund the police. Republicans will always prioritize America’s safety and security.
Sen. Tom Cotton: For over 100 days, Democrats attempted to defund law enforcement. They did not succeed. Last week, Republicans secured significant funding for ICE and Border Patrol for years to come.
Sen. Joni Ernst: I proudly supported the Secure America Act. We must fully fund law enforcement and keep Iowans safe!
Sen. Rand Paul: Despite Democrats’ obstruction, we successfully passed funding for Border Patrol and ICE. Under President Trump, Biden’s open-border legacy is over.
Sen. Ted Budd: For months, Democrats hampered basic government functions to appease their far-left base. Senate Republicans just ended this obstruction by passing the Secure America Act, fully funding ICE and CBP so these agencies can enforce immigration laws, secure the border, and keep Americans safe.
Sen. Roger Marshall: Currently, Democrats are fighting us through the night to block funding for the agencies that secure our borders and keep violent illegal aliens out of our country. Americans have not forgotten what our nation looked like under Democrat rule. Republicans are striving to restore law and order, secure the border, and keep your family safe.
House Majority Whip Tom Emmer: At every step, Democrats have attempted to obstruct the president’s successful border security agenda. No longer. Today, the House GOP will fully fund Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Border Patrol through FY2029, preserving President Trump’s significant achievements at the border for years to come!
Sen. Deb Fischer: Democrats in Congress repeatedly refused to fund the law enforcement that ensures our nation’s safety. The Senate GOP got it done. I urge the House to act quickly and deliver this bill to the president’s desk.
Rep. Tony Wied: The American people desire secure borders and know who stands with them. While Democrats persist in supporting illegal aliens, today Republicans will vote to fully fund ICE and CBP and equip them with the tools needed to keep Americans safe.
Rep. Russell Fry: Enough with the political theater. The mission is critical. We were elected to secure the border, support law enforcement, and protect our country, not be distracted by superficial issues and political dramatics. Let’s pass the reconciliation bill and send it to the president’s desk.
Rep. Julie Fedorchak: Remember: Every Democrat voted NO multiple times on fully funding DHS. Now, the House GOP is leading the charge to ensure the men and women who secure our border, counter terrorist threats, and respond to disasters have the resources they need. Tomorrow, we will vote to fully fund DHS. Keeping Americans safe should not be optional or a partisan issue.
Rep. Mark Harris: Border security should never be a bargaining tool. The American people have given the House GOP a clear mandate to secure the border, and we are prepared to fund ICE and CBP for the next three years so the front-line personnel can protect our country.
Rep. Claudia Tenney: The American people voted for a secure border. They expect us to enforce the law and keep our communities safe. We have a mandate to accomplish this. Let’s finish the job.
Rep. Jim Baird: It’s time to fully fund border security in our nation. It’s time to secure America and fully fund ICE and CBP.
Rep. Julia Letlow: Thank you, Secretary Mullin. It’s time for Congress to pass the Secure America Act to fund our immigration enforcement and continue President Trump’s efforts to secure the border.
Rep. Jodey Arrington: Republicans are fulfilling our commitment to ensuring our border is secure, our laws are enforced, and our law enforcement officers have the resources they need to succeed.
House Judiciary GOP: Democrats have forced 10 million migrants into the country and taken them to sanctuary jurisdictions, then defunded ICE. The Secure America Act will prevent this from happening again.
House Homeland GOP: Chairman Garbarino testified before the Rules Reps, urging full funding for DHS to continue securing our borders and communities: “As threats to the homeland continue to evolve, Congress cannot afford inaction. The cycle of abandoning regular order and using funding as a political bargaining chip must end. The American people deserve a government willing to confront these challenges directly and decisively. We have an opportunity to make the country safer and more secure.”
Republican Study Committee: Democrats have spent 100 days deliberately undermining the agencies that stand between American communities and violent criminal illegal aliens brought in by the Biden administration. Fully funding our border security agencies is non-negotiable. There is no more time for delay. Let’s get this done!
Senate Republicans: The Secure America Act ensures Democrats can no longer hold law enforcement funding hostage. We’re never going back to Biden’s open borders and lawlessness.
