Donald Trump presents a rather straightforward puzzle; his ability to disguise his vulnerabilities resembles that of a child playing poker—his expressions and reactions give away his fears far too easily. Beneath his usual avalanche of inaccuracies lies a truth about his insecurities.

As voters across the United States prepare to cast their ballots this Tuesday, the stakes are mixed. While most positions up for grabs are local, the gubernatorial races in Virginia and New Jersey will attract national attention, along with a crucial redistricting measure in California.

Recent polling data released on Monday indicates that Donald Trump’s fortunes are decidedly waning.

According to CNN, the latest figures are telling:

Trump’s approval rating has plummeted to 37%, marking a new low during his second term and closely mirroring his 36% approval at the corresponding time in his first term.

Furthermore, his disapproval rating has surged to 63%, the highest recorded in either of his terms, eclipsing his previous peak of 62% as he exited office in January 2021.

Remarkably, Trump’s disapproval now exceeds the levels observed following the January 6th insurrection, highlighting the depth of his current political troubles.

This signifies a troubling trend not only for the president but also for the Republican Party as they brace for the impending midterm elections. While the precise impact of his declining numbers on Tuesday remains uncertain, it’s clear they will resonate during the voting process.

On Monday, Trump himself hinted at his awareness of the brewing storm through a post that suggested he knows trouble looms ahead.
