Donald Trump, the current President of the United States, has consistently demonstrated difficulties in processing information. These challenges have reportedly intensified with age. Allegedly, during his tenure, Trump initiated military actions against Iran, receiving briefings that included explosive visuals.

Trump is said to struggle with information processing to the extent that his staff simplifies his briefings significantly. He frequently holds cabinet meetings that are publicly criticized, where officials often extol his leadership.
On Thursday, another of these meetings took place. It is noted that Trump often uses these occasions to refute claims of his own cognitive decline.
During this meeting, Trump unexpectedly targeted California Governor Gavin Newsom with a verbal attack.
Trump stated:
âI won the election with a very tremendous Hispanic vote, and I think itâs higher now than it was then. So, uh, weâre a party of common sense. The Democrats are a party of insanity. Theyâre a party that will destroy our country. If I didnât win this election, I believe our country wouldâve been destroyed by now.â
âOne year. This all it wouldâve taken if you had Kamala or Sleepy Joe, either one. It wouldnât have mattered. Theyâre the same thing. Two sleepy people, two stupid people, I believe, and, and by the way, Gavin Newscum (Newsom), who is one of the candidates. I believe he took himself out of the running when he says he is, he suffers from mental disability, and a reporter said it was terrible that I talked that way about somebody with mental disability.â
âI said, I have no problem with it, but I donât want a person with mental disability to be my president. I mean, you donât want to have a person with mental disability. Being your president. And Gavin Newsom said that he canât read a speech, he canât do almost anything. And then he said heâs as dumb as all the people in the room, and he got accused of being a racist, which was an amazing, I thought it was the worst interview Iâve ever seen anybody give.â
âHeâs actually a very stupid person, so I believe heâs out of the running. I think that that statement, that interview. He admitted that heâs a stupid person. I donât want a stupid person being president.â
Gavin Newsom, who has dyslexia, a learning disability, was criticized by Trump in a manner that could further distance him from many Americans. Dyslexia does not correlate with intelligence, making Trump’s remarks potentially problematic.
In his subsequent comments, Trump inadvertently acknowledged his own cognitive challenges.
