The Treasury Department has unveiled a proposal to mint a $1 coin that showcases President Trump on both sides as part of the upcoming celebrations for America’s 250th anniversary.
Initial sketches of this commemorative coin have surfaced, revealing the president depicted in two distinctive poses.
One side illustrates Trump in profile alongside the motto “IN GOD WE TRUST,” flanked by the years 1776 and 2026.

The reverse side captures him raising a clenched fist, reminiscent of the iconic moment following the gunfire incident at a 2024 campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
One year ago today at 6:11 PM, divine intervention saved President Donald Trump in Butler, PA.
The President defied death, raised his fist, and declared “Fight, fight, fight.”

The phrase “FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT”—a battle cry Trump directed at supporters amid the chaos that ensued—encircles the design.
In a post on X, U.S. Treasurer Brandon Beach confirmed the legitimacy of these early drafts.
“No fake news here. These initial drafts celebrating America’s 250th Birthday and @POTUS are genuine,” Beach stated.
“I look forward to sharing more details once the government’s current impasse is resolved,” he added.

A spokesperson from the Treasury has also validated the plans for the commemorative coin.
“In spite of the radical left’s enforced governmental shutdown, the reality is stark: Under the remarkable leadership of President Donald J. Trump, our nation is poised to celebrate its 250th anniversary more robust, prosperous, and outstanding than ever,” the spokesperson remarked.
“While the final design for the $1 coin has yet to be determined, this draft vividly represents the enduring spirit of our nation and democratic values, even amidst significant challenges,” they concluded.
Congress had previously approved bipartisan legislation in 2020, which Trump signed in the waning days of his presidency, granting the Treasury Secretary the authority to mint dollar coins in 2026.
The legislation stipulates that designs must epitomize the United States semiquincentennial.
When inquired if Trump was aware of the proposal, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt couldn’t provide a definitive answer.
“I can’t say for sure if he’s seen it, but I have no doubt he would be thrilled with it,” she concluded.
