Taylor Frankie Paul‘s involvement in Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is causing concern among her co-stars due to ongoing issues with her former partner, Dakota Mortensen.
A source revealed to Us Weekly that the Mormon Wives cast is “honestly terrified” to film with Taylor at present. Production has been “shut down,” with the cast expressing their reluctance to be around her, citing her as a “major liability.”
On March 16, reports from TMZ and People stated that production for the fifth season of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives was halted earlier this month following an alleged domestic incident involving Taylor, 31, and Dakota, 33. A Draper City Police Department representative confirmed to Us that a “domestic assault investigation” concerning the pair is underway. According to the police, “allegations have been made in both directions” and contact occurred with involved parties on February 24 and 25.
According to an insider, the Mormon Wives cast previously believed that Taylor was in a better place after filming her season of The Bachelorette and that the Hulu reality show was taking a new direction.
The source added, “Many of them feel they’ve moved past dealing with such behavior and don’t wish to be placed in that position again.”
Us has contacted representatives for Paul, Mortensen, and Hulu for comments.
Previously, Taylor faced legal challenges after her February 2023 arrest on domestic violence charges. Initially, she faced charges of aggravated assault, two counts of domestic violence in the presence of a child, child abuse with injury, and criminal mischief.
At the time, Dakota publicly supported Taylor, who later agreed to plead guilty to aggravated assault, leading to the dismissal of the four additional charges with prejudice. On the “Call Her Daddy” podcast in September 2025, Taylor mentioned that the four other charges were “all dropped.”
When The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives debuted in September 2024, Taylor discussed the trauma of her arrest. (Body-camera footage from the night of her arrest was released shortly before the show premiered.)

Taylor described her arrest as “the worst night of my life,” leading to charges of aggravated assault and resulting in three years of probation. She reflected on the stress that followed, noting that footage of her leaving jail quickly surfaced online. Despite the challenges, she viewed it as a “blessing in disguise” that prompted personal growth.
Following her marriage to Tate Paul, which ended in May 2022, Taylor began dating Dakota. The couple parted ways in 2025 after a sexting scandal. Taylor and Tate share two children, Indy May, 8, and Ocean, 5, and separated during the MomTok soft swinging scandal. Taylor later welcomed a son, Ever True, with Dakota in March 2024.
In a recent cover story with Us, Taylor admitted that navigating her breakup with Dakota has been difficult.
“It was challenging because I’m part of it — it’s not like I can say, ‘He’s the toxic one.’ It takes two to tango. We weren’t progressing,” Taylor told Us. “We like each other sometimes, and then we fight. It’s difficult to explain unless you’ve been in that situation. If I could snap out of it, I would. It’s just not that simple.”
After separating from Dakota, Taylor participated in filming The Bachelorette season 22, set to premiere on ABC on March 22. When asked by Us about her current relationship with Dakota amid her Bachelorette involvement, Taylor replied candidly.
“That’s a good question,” she said. “I don’t even know. I have to ask myself that question all the time. Where do we stand? I don’t know. Ask me tomorrow.”
