Myriad Pictures, based in Los Angeles, has acquired the rights to “A Silent Death,” a new psychological crime thriller directed by Sebastian Schindel.

The agreement, finalized by Kirk D’Amico of Myriad and Guido Rud and Federico Pascua of FilmSharks, is set to release the film in North America in the third quarter of 2026.

Set in Patagonia during the 1980s, the story centers around a hunting guide who discovers a violent crime linked to his niece. This discovery draws him into an investigation that reveals hidden secrets from a dark and tumultuous time. The film features JoaquĂn Furriel, who starred in Schindel’s 2014 success, “The Boss, Anatomy of a Crime.”

D’Amico expressed enthusiasm about the project, stating, “We are excited to bring this suspenseful, well-crafted, and multi-layered film to audiences in North America. Sebastian Schindel superbly directs a talented cast, and Guillermo Nieto’s cinematography deftly helps to create a chilling atmosphere to this story of past and present crimes.”

The film also features performances by Soledad Villamil, known for “The Secret in Their Eyes,” and Alejandro Awada from “Nine Queens.”

Guido Rud commented on the partnership, saying, “Myriad is a legendary label with a great eye for cinema, and we truly feel we found the best distributor for this cinematic gem in North America.” He further noted that rights for Latin America were acquired by the Walt Disney Company, with Movistar+ securing rights for Spain and AV Jet for Taiwan.

Negotiations are ongoing for distribution in France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Korea, Italy, and Japan.
