Barone: We definitely stuck to the script, but there were moments of improv that added so much to the scenes. Benito created such a collaborative environment where we all felt comfortable bringing our own ideas to the table. It was amazing to see how those moments of spontaneity elevated the show.

DiMarco: Working on set was a blast. Benito set such a fun and welcoming tone that it was easy to relax and have a good time. There were definitely moments where we improvised and played around with the scenes, which added a lot of energy and humor to the show. It was a great experience to work with such talented and creative people.

What are your hopes for Season 2 of “Overcompensating”?

Skinner: I would love to see the characters continue to grow and evolve. I think there are so many more stories to tell and explore within this world. I want to delve deeper into the relationships and dynamics between the characters and see where they go next.

Baram: I hope we get to see more of Carmen’s journey and how she navigates her own struggles and triumphs. I think there is so much more to explore with her character and I would love to see her develop further in Season 2.

Barone: I would love to see Grace continue to grow and come into her own. She has such a complex and interesting character arc, and I think there is so much more to explore with her. I hope Season 2 allows us to delve deeper into her story and see how she navigates the challenges she faces.

DiMarco: I’m excited to see where Peter’s story goes in Season 2. There is so much potential for his character to evolve and I think there are a lot of interesting directions his storyline could take. I hope we get to see more of his relationships with the other characters and how he continues to navigate his own personal growth.

With a talented cast and a compelling storyline, “Overcompensating” is a must-watch series that combines humor, heart, and important themes. As fans eagerly await news of a potential Season 2, they can enjoy the first season, now streaming on Amazon Prime Video, and immerse themselves in the nostalgic world of Americana college hell that Benito Skinner has created.

Baram: I think for Jeremy, it’s about finding his place in the world and coming to terms with who he truly is. He’s always been a bit lost and unsure of himself, so I hope in Season 2 we get to see him really embrace his authentic self and find his confidence. And of course, I hope we get to see more of the hilarious and heartwarming moments that make the show so special.

DiMarco: For my character, Jake, I think there’s a lot of room for growth and exploration. He’s someone who is constantly trying to fit in and be someone he’s not, so I would love to see him come into his own and find his true identity. I think there’s a lot of potential for some really interesting storylines and character development in a potential Season 2.

Overall, the cast and crew of “Overcompensating” are excited about the possibility of a Season 2 and all the potential for growth and development that it could bring for their characters. With a supportive and creative environment on set, the show has been able to explore complex relationships and themes with humor and heart, leaving viewers eager to see where the story goes next.
