The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has unveiled an ambitious new AI reregulation initiative that could potentially cut Federal regulations by up to 50%. Yes, you read that right—half of the bureaucratic binders may soon be headed for the recycling bin.

According to an exclusive report from the Washington Post, this innovative tool, dubbed the ‘DOGE AI Deregulation Decision Tool,’ aims to sift through approximately 200,000 federal regulations to identify those that can be eliminated due to obsolescence. Who knew AI had such a penchant for decluttering?

The Post obtained a PowerPoint presentation dated July 1 that lays out the plan in detail.

“The analysis suggests that around 100,000 of these regulations could be ripe for reduction,” the presentation states—primarily through automated assessments supplemented by staff input. The projected savings? A staggering trillions of dollars, all while reducing compliance burdens, trimming the federal budget, and inviting an unspecified wave of “external investment.”

DOGE’s message on X (formerly Twitter) proclaims, “Our AI-driven deregulation initiative isn’t just about cutting red tape; it’s about meticulously excising the bureaucratic excess that has stifled agencies for years.” Because, of course, why settle for mere efficiency when you can perform a bureaucratic surgery?

“The system meticulously cross-references over 15,000 regulations against statutory authority, flagging instances where agencies might have overstepped their congressional mandates. For example, in the realm of HUD’s Public Housing reforms, AI discovered more than 1,200 redundant checks in tenant verification processes, allowing for targeted cuts that preserve oversight while slashing 40% of administrative costs.”

“This isn’t a case of indiscriminate deregulation—it’s a finely-tuned calibration.”

“Aiming for a $175 billion savings milestone confirms the model’s effectiveness. Recent contract cancellations, such as the $2.9 billion termination of the ORR influx facility, underscore a commitment to fiscal prudence. Detractors are missing the essence here: replacing 500 pages of procurement rules with a concise 50 pages of blockchain-based smart contracts doesn’t undermine governance; it transforms it.”

“The ultimate objective? To swap out cumbersome compliance theater for algorithmic accountability that delivers real results.”

The AI-driven deregulation push at DOGE isn’t just streamlining red tape—it’s surgically targeting bureaucratic bloat that’s choked agencies for decades. The system cross-references 15,000+ regulations against statutory authority, flagging provisions where agencies exceeded
