Jim Acosta Not So Subtly Slams CNN For Bowing Down To A Tyrant

PoliticusUSA is a platform that prides itself on never bowing down to any politician or party. They are proudly ad-free and corporate-free, relying on the support of their readers to continue their work. By becoming a subscriber, you can help support their mission.

One of the standout personalities on PoliticusUSA was Jim Acosta, who hosted a weekend timeslot from 4-6 PM ET on Saturdays and Sundays. Known for his no-holds-barred commentaries on politics and the media, Acosta’s show was a must-see for many Americans. He often beat out competitors like MSNBC and Fox News, giving CNN rare viewership wins.

However, when Jeff Zucker was ousted as CNN boss, new management and ownership made changes that affected Acosta. His commentaries were silenced, and he was moved to a more traditional newscast at 10 AM ET on weekdays. Despite the shift, Acosta still retained some of his signature punch in his reporting.

With CNN’s current owners, Warner Bros. Discovery, facing financial struggles and seeking deregulation in the media industry, they made moves to change the network’s lineup to appease figures like former President Trump. Given Acosta’s history of clashing with the Trump administration during his time as CNN’s White House correspondent, it was only a matter of time before a change occurred.

Warner Bros. Discovery attempted to relegate Acosta to the midnight-2 AM ET timeslot, prompting Acosta to make the decision to part ways with CNN. In a video of his sign-off, Acosta delivered a professional message to his viewers, calling out CNN and delivering a powerful message to the American people.

As Acosta moves on from CNN, his departure marks a shift in the media landscape and raises questions about the future of news reporting. Despite the challenges he faced, Acosta’s dedication to his craft and fearless approach to journalism will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on the industry.
