Cameron Moore, the driving force behind the American Heroes Association and ardent supporter of veteran rights and Trump-related initiatives, has initiated a federal defamation lawsuit against the British tabloid known as the Daily Mail.

Moore’s legal complaint, lodged in the Southern District of Florida, targets Mail Media Inc., the entity behind the Daily Mail, alleging both defamation per se and defamation by implication.

In his lawsuit, Moore contends that the Daily Mail produced a malicious article aimed at damaging his image and hindering his efforts in advocating for veterans, conservative values, and the Trump administration.

Represented by Attorney Jamie Sasson of The Sasson Law Firm, the case cites a September 5th article that inaccurately characterized Moore as “a deceptive opportunist who fabricates relationships with prominent figures.”

In response to Moore’s formal request for a retraction, Mail Media Inc. reportedly declined, insisting that its wording was not intended to suggest deception.

The lawsuit further alleges that this refusal reveals actual malice and underscores the Daily Mail’s tendency to prioritize sensationalism over factual reporting.

Moore and Sasson are pursuing both compensatory and punitive damages, along with injunctive relief demanding the retraction or alteration of the allegedly defamatory content.

Defamation Lawsuit Against Daily Mail Highlights Concerns of Media Accuracy: Cameron Moore and Attorney Jamie Sasson Seek Justice

Amid increasing allegations of media bias from President Donald Trump—asserting that “97% of stories about him are fake or negative,” a newly filed federal lawsuit by Cameron Moore, Founder of the American Heroes Association, spotlights significant issues regarding media ethics, political targeting, and the misuse of journalistic practices.

Moore’s lawsuit (Case 9:25-cv-81146), filed in the Southern District of Florida, implicates Mail Media Inc. for both defamation by implication and per se, revolving around a September 5th article that allegedly misrepresented him as “a deceptive opportunist.”

Attorney Jamie Sasson of The Sasson Law Firm argues that the article comprises factual inaccuracies and paints a damaging portrayal that adversely affected Moore’s reputation, fundraising efforts, and professional connections.

“This case speaks to the principles of truth, integrity, and accountability,” Sasson remarked.

“The Daily Mail disseminated unfounded claims calculated to mislead the audience and tarnish Mr. Moore’s reputation. We are committed to pursuing justice and establishing a precedent for media organizations to be held accountable for their actions.”

Among the allegations featured in the article is the assertion that Moore “persuaded” Trump associate and FBI Director Kash Patel into a photo opportunity, a claim Moore labels as blatantly false.

Previously, Moore had not only volunteered for Patel’s foundation but had also raised funds for it, with the photograph being taken in a cordial and voluntary context.

In an additional claim, the article suggested that Moore had uploaded a “deceptive” video with Roger Stone, implying he misrepresented the timeline and nature of their association.

Moore counters that he never described the video as recent, having shared a new image with Stone from a more recent event in Las Vegas, where he served as a key sponsor.

This photo reinforced their ongoing relationship, demonstrating Moore’s consistent support for various initiatives over the years.

Moore, dedicated to elevating awareness and securing resources for veterans and conservative causes, remarked, “I have invested years fostering genuine relationships aimed at uplifting veterans and patriotic ideals. To be maliciously portrayed as manipulative is not only painful but detrimental to the mission I cherish deeply.”

Despite Moore’s formal outreach for a retraction, Mail Media Inc. clung to their narrative, asserting their language couldn’t mislead. The lawsuit emphasizes intentional malice, pointing to the company’s unwillingness to amend known inaccuracies in pursuit of sensationalized storytelling.

Moore and Sasson demand both compensatory and punitive damages, as well as an injunction compelling the removal or correction of the damaging material.
